One of my favorite moments on the album is a track called Character Witness. I included voicemail messages from both of my parents, knowing I wanted to create a track with them so I could have it forever. When I came up with the concept, I knew my father wasn’t going to be with us much longer, but I never imagined he’d be gone just a month or two later. I also couldn’t have foreseen that my friend and fraternity brother Jason—my confidant during this difficult time—would tragically pass just days before my dad. I’m thankful I had a voicemail from him as well. Shoutout to the other loved ones who graced that track. I LOVE YOU.

Kindred Williams is an emerging R&B artist with heavy influences in Gospel and Jazz. This singer and songwriter credits his love of music to his Mom and Dad's extensive music collection.
Kindred, born Preston Kindred in Washington, D.C., began to further embrace his artistic side during his time at Bowie State University.
With a creative mind like Kindred's, his mind is always running and creating. Kindred lists Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Lalah Hathaway, PJ Morton, Jazmine Sullivan, and Tank, as some of the inspirations for his vocal styling.
Kindred's debut album, Testimony (2024), takes several pages of his life and reads them to new audiences with soulful narration through music. Only time will tell of the impact this labor of love will have.
